Another Week, Another Post 2023-10-15

From Heather

So another week, another blog post :-}}

Lets see the best of the week has been the wonderful fall color that is everywhere. This is a very late fall for us and I’m just loving it. Every walk we take I just drink in the colors. It warms the soul before the long winter months ahead. Right now it feels that winter will never come and we are lost in the wonderland of fall. But sooner or later winter will sink it’s teeth in and come. Right now I’m not really looking forward to it all that much. But when the world is covered in white and I’m enthralled by it’s beauty then I will be glad that it is here. But for now I’m in love with the fall.

We had Merideth’s birthday this week. She is now the big 5 !!! How time flies… She really wanted a star cake that she saw in Gwyn’s cook book. So Jordan was wonderful and made her one. I shopped for all the presents and got them ready. She really wanted a dress for her birthday. I found a beautiful winter velvet church dress for her at our local consignment shop. And wonders of wonders a fairy skirt that had been her sisters tucked away for years also came to light. She got lots of other little gifts here and there as well. We all went out to eat for lunch in town because it was a co-op day. And when we got home we had cake and presents. I love her so much and look forward to the many years ahead, God willing.

The world is a much wider place then just our family and as I read about the war in Isreal right now I am sad. Sad for the families that have lost loved ones. Sad that so many will have to give so much. As a mother it can be hard to see other mothers lose their children… I have been re-reading Psalms 20, 22, 69, 120, 122, 150. They help me see that God has not forgotten and is there for all of us. They have been a great comfort to me and have helped me navigate this change in the world. I pray that the conflict will come to a decisive and speedy end.
